I’m always learning. As someone who can get bored easily, after 14+ years I’ve still never had a boring day at PIE. I find it fascinating to talk with executives about the challenges they need to overcome to be successful.

HOW I LIVE A FULL LIFE

My kids keep me active and luckily share my interests, including skiing in the winter and getting on the rivers and camping in the summers. I value education and economic development, so I give my time to mentoring students, serving as an Ambassador to Chicago Booth, and participating in the Montana Ambassadors.

TSA PreCheck. Without question, the money I spent on TSA PreCheck has the highest consumer surplus of any purchase I’ve made in my life.

MY BOOK RECOMMENDATION

Nothing has topped the Lord of the Rings Trilogy for me. I completed all 3 books in a weekend—I just couldn’t put them down.

ONE OF MY FAVORITES

Growing up, my mom always said, “Say what you mean, and mean what you say.” We could never use the excuse of “I didn’t mean it like that,” because her response is that we say what we mean, and we mean what we say. I take that with me in my personal and professional lives, and if I say something, you know that I mean it.
