MY FAVORITE PART ABOUT WORKING AT PIE

The people. PIE is a company full of smart, high-quality people. Every day I feel like my colleagues inspire me to be a better version of myself in and out of the office.

A PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENT I’M PROUD OF

When I was in college at Montana State University, I managed a small office that designed and delivered leadership development programming for MSU students, staff, and faculty. I had the privilege of working with top-notch, global leaders in many disciplines, including Neil deGrasse Tyson, Sir Ken Robinson, Conrad Anker, and Jimmy Chin. Working alongside some wonderful student colleagues, those were some of my earliest and most formative professional experiences, but they were also an incredible catalyst for personal development.

HOW I LIVE A FULL LIFE

I enjoy a number of hobbies that keep me active while spending time outside or with friends and family, such as swing dancing with my wife, skiing, mountain biking or trail running with my dog, camping, or even sometimes a little climbing or jiu-jitsu. I’m more interested in adventures with friends and family than competition, but I’ve completed a few 100 mile mountain bike races over the years and one 50k trail run in Big Sky, MT. I also like to read on a wide variety of topics from business articles to psychology, economics, history, philosophy, religion, or even the occasional classic novel.

MY BEST $100 PURCHASE

I’m pretty sure the adoption fee for my blue heeler cattle dog was exactly $100 and the impact she’s had on my life has been priceless. She has become my number one companion (after my wife, of course) and has a positive impact on my life every day.

MY BOOK RECOMMENDATION

My latest read is a book that my was actually recommended to me called Be Prepared: A Practical Handbook for New Dads, and somehow I think it might have the most to teach me of any that I’ve read.
