About Dana Roach
MY FAVORITE PART ABOUT WORKING AT PIE
My favorite aspect of working at PIE is my team; I have the opportunity to work with a team of inspiring, dedicated people.
A PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENT I’M PROUD OF
I have a master’s in Creative Writing from Dartmouth College. After graduate school, I worked for three years in the education nonprofit space with Teach For America, both as a corps member and then on their staff team. I also work as an adjunct professor at Montana State University in the Writing Department.
I am most proud of completing Teach For America; it was the hardest thing I have ever done and is foundational to who I am as a professional.
MY BEST $100 PURCHASE
My Hestra ski mittens. I spend most of my free time from November to April skiing on the weekends, and I hate having cold hands!
MY BOOK RECOMMENDATION
I love everything Jennifer Egan writes. She of course often tops the NYT bestselling lists these days, but one of her older books, The Keep, is my favorite; it breaks a lot of rules and is weird in way that makes you remember it for years.
MY CURRENT GOAL
I am trying to write a young adult novel. It is hard; wish me luck
