I love that PIE’s company values start with “Make (Sh)it Happen” and “Live Full Lives”. PIE cares that we achieve impact/outcomes while also enjoying fulfilling lives outside of work–a sustainable and much appreciated posture for a company in the midst of robust growth.

HOW I LIVE A FULL LIFE

Three friends from grad school and I meet up each summer for a backcountry trip. We’ve wandered the Kenai, the East Coast trail in Newfoundland/Labrador, the Gallatin Crest + Gallatin Skyline trails across the northern border of Yellowstone Park, the White Goat Provincial Wilderness in B.C., and the Escalante area in Utah. Over the years, we’ve moved, changed jobs, become fathers, and our sore backs stay sore longer, but our dinner conversations perched over rugged views have gotten more memorable.

A PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENT I’M PROUD OF

Prior to PIE, I spent almost 10 years as a federal contractor balancing roles of team member and project leader managing complex programs in dynamic circumstances. We did hard things working in national security and civilian programs and built incredibly supportive (and enduring) team cultures.
